The UAE is home to some of the best amusement parks in the world. And, in a country where it is hot most of the year, what better way to spend the days off than cooling down in a water-themed park. The theme parks of UAE feature one-of-a-kind rides with several parks making it into international lists of best waterparks in the world. Here is a rundown on 8 of the best waterparks in the UAE.
Wild Wadi Water Park
The Wild Wadi Water Park, Dubai is located in front of the Burj Al Arab, providing a stunning view of the iconic structure. This park offers true Arabian experience combined with all the joy of a waterpark. The park is themed on the tale of Juha, a popular Middle Eastern folklore character. Juha is a legendary comic character depicted as riding a donkey. He traveled around the world on the high seas and had lots of adventures. His stories are funny and often have a subtle wit. The tales of Juha are very popular among children as well as adults and provides the perfect theme for an amusement park. The theme itself marks it as one of the interesting places to visit in Dubai.
This waterpark in Dubai has 30 different kinds of rides suited for all types of visitors. The adventurous can head to Jumeirah Sceirah, a six-second ride that takes you high above the waterpark, and then drops you down a 120-metre long slide at a speed of 50 miles per hour. Another ride called Tantrum Alley is a high-speed thrill adventure that takes the visitors through large waterslides into three tornadoes. They circle around in the eye of the storm before splashing out into a pool. For a more leisurely experience, try full body boarding at Wipeout which takes you through changing landscapes. Splash ‘n’ Party is one of the newest water-themed attractions in Dubai and the first of its kind. This waterpark is exclusively for kids and also doubles up as a birthday venue. Unlike most waterparks where children are forbidden from some rides because of their age and height, at Splash ‘n’ Party they go on everything. Every attraction is specifically tailored for kids, so much so that children may consider it to be the best waterpark in Dubai. The water is only knee height, and the venue has five to six lifeguards on duty at all times. So, parents can relax knowing that their children are in safe hands.
Splash ‘n’ Party combines lots of lively activities with water-based recreations. An outdoor splash pad area is equipped with water slides and water guns for children to play. Additional entertainment includes music, live stage performances, cupcake decorating, and lots of other arts and crafts activities. Splash ‘n’ Party provides facilities to host birthday parties as well. Party services include having a bouncy castle for hire, inflatable water slides, face painting, magic shows, balloon twisting, and many other attractions.
While the kids enjoy, the adults can unwind here as well. Sit back at the juice bar to cool down with a selection of beverages. You may also want to enjoy delicious snacks from their restaurant. Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi
For a legendary waterpark experience head to Yas Waterworld in Abu Dhabi. Yas Waterworld, named as Middle East’s Leading Tourist Attraction of 2013, is spread over an area equivalent to 15 football pitches with 45 water-based attractions. The park draws on Abu Dhabi’s heritage with a ‘The Lost Pearl’ theme. Visitors to the park follow the quest of a young Emirati girl, Dana who goes on a journey to recover a legendary pearl lost in a storm. Her quest is guided by several animals such as a dolphin, a camel, and a falcon. While she tries to recover the pearl, few bandits, and a snake follow her to take the pearl for themselves. By the end of the story, her teardrops fall into an oasis which gives rise to a majestic pearl which towers over her village and brings prosperity to the residents. The rides, shops, and restaurants in this park are based on this story with thematic designs all around. The most noticeable structure, the giant pearl, sits on top Jebel Drop, an altitude defying ride that is part of the park’s five one-of-a-kind attractions.
The rides of this park are classified into 4 categories; Adrenaline Rush, Exciting Adventures, Moving & Grooving, and Young Fun. There are five one-of-a-kind rides that are unique to this park. The Dawwama is a funnel ride where visitors zoom around in a tornado-like formation at a height of 20 meters. It is the world’s first, and largest hydromagnetic-powered six people tornado slide. The Falcon’s Falaj is 300 metres high with lots of twists, turns, and rapids. It is officially the longest water coaster ride in the Middle East. Bubble’s Barrel is the world’s largest surf-worthy sheet wave. It has 3m high waves that two people can ride at once. The Bandit Bomber is the only suspended water rollercoaster of the Middle East. Visitors on this ride enjoy the on-board water and laser effects as they whiz around the park. Slither’s Slide is a maze of tunnels and slides with spectacular special effects. Riders can choose from among 6 themes for 30 different experiences of this ride. Each ride ends with emerging from a giant snake’s head into a splash pool.
